After suffering from cancer, lefty Jon Lester threw a no hitter against the Kansas City Royals. This was the first complete game pitched by Lester in his Major League career. Lester has the first thrown no-hitter for this Sox this season. Rookie Clay Buchholz threw a no-hitter during his 2nd major league start last year. But which no-hitter is more impressive, Buchholz's 2nd major league start - or - Lester's comeback from cancer? I think Clay's game was more inpressive because that was his second start. Lester has had more major league experence, although he did have cancer. Jon Lester pitched in Game 4 of the 2007 World Series, with 5 shutout innings. Another thing to know- Jason Veritek has caught the most no-hitters of all time. V-tek has caught 14 no-hitters and looking for more. The Red Sox have thrown the second most no-hitters than any other ballclub.
